During the pursuit of his singing career, Brah Yhan met his current label mate Courtney John, and the rest shall we say is "HIS STORY".

Brah Yhan is the newest talent on the FiWi Music roster with a style of his own. A multifaceted artist, Brah Yhan is a richly voiced singer, witty songwriter and consummate musician. His songs are delivered with passion, meaning and message.

Brah Yhan's writing and musical contributions to Courtney John's 'Miracles' album on tracks like 'So Far So Good' and 'Here Again' were just the beginning. His first singles recorded for FiWi Music, 'Soon Come Back' and 'When Your Eyes Speak' [on the Sunshine Reggae Remix] immediately began charting as they hit the airwaves.

Today, one of his current singles, 'Stain', recorded on the Natty Bay rhythm remains #1 on OJ36 Records' Reggae Top 20 Chart where it has reigned for nine consecutive weeks and counting.
In addition, his most recent single, 'Hug Me Baby' on the Water Jelly rhythm began appearing on programme playlists across the globe before the single was officially released.

Continuing to hone his skills, Brah Yhan collaborated with label mates Lenn Hammond and Courtney John earlier this year on the energetic 'Sky's the Limit' featuring Future Troubles.

But where did it all begin? ...

...about four miles from Nine Miles, St. Ann, Jamaica, Bryan Grant was born, in the lush green hills of Murray Mount. The youngest of twelve children, Brah Yhan began playing the guitar at the tender age of eight. His keen interest in music was inspired by his eldest brother Robert, a recording artist known as Ray Grant. "He's the kind of fellow who can make you cry whenever he sings: one of those unsung birds; and he plays guitar just as well", Brah Yhan states fondly. However, it was his mother who taught Brah Yhan his first three chords, "and I played for the next three years".

In search of opportunity the guitar became secondary, that is until he moved to Kingston during his teen years. It was after this re-location that he began to play the guitar again in preparation for a college entry audition. The audition was a success! Brah Yhan majored in guitar as well as Caribbean Latin American Jazz Studies while he attended the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts [EMCVPA].

And so Brah Yhan's story continues...

While in school, Brah Yhan was discovered by George Miller, who gave him his first 'big' break as a guitarist; an opportunity to tour as a member of the Fire House Crew - Luciano's backing band at the time. An immeasurable experience, Brah Yhan toured with Luciano [Grammy nominee] for years and later for his counterpart, Bushman as the leader and guitarist of his Grass Roots Band. When he wasn't touring, Brah Yhan was either teaching music part time in two local schools or pursuing another of his long time dreams of singing.

Today, devoted to his singing career, Brah Yhan represents a new generation of lover's rock reggae that keeps in the tradition of crooners who came before him, those who have inspired him, including the likes of the late Dennis Brown, Al Greene, Beres Hammond and Toots Hibbert to name a few.

Together with his label mates Courtney John and Lenn Hammond, Brah Yhan brings a fresh element to FiWi Music as they thrive to bring quality reggae music to the masses.
